The Winds Here at The Ornament Factory Have Me Thinking of this Classic Movie…..

We have been having some pretty strong winds here at The Ornament Factory. It was making me think a tornado was going to come and sweep us off to Oz like in the classic movie The Wizard of Oz. Here are a few of the Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments from that movie. You can see all of the at http://www.hallmarkornaments.com .

Dorothy and the Munchkins….

The little people who lived in Munchkinland were overjoyed when a tornado dropped Dorothy’s house right on top of the Wicked Witch of the East. Although the Munchkins were shy at first, they were soon telling the story of the “young lady who fell from a star,” celebrating her as their hero. They didn’t know how to grant her wish, to go home to Kansas, but they had an idea. Perhaps the wonderful Wizard who lived in the Emerald City could help.
hallmark_2006_munchkins.jpg

Glinda the Good Witch Arrives!

The beautiful Glinda, the Good Witch from the North, was there to help poor Dorothy and her dog get back to Kansas.

2006_glinda.jpg

Wicked Witch of the West….

The Wicked Witch of the West orders her Winged Monkeys to “Fly! Fly!” as she commands her henchmen to fetch Dorothy (and her little dog, too). She can’t wait any longer to get her hands on those Ruby Slippers!

hallmark_2011_wicked_witch.jpg

Poppy Field….

A unique ornament. This Hallmark Keepsake Ornament highlights one chapter in the story of Dorothy and her search for the Wizard of OZ.  The Wicked Witch of the West and Nikko, a winged monkey, watch with delight through their magical globe as Dorothy and her friends make their way through the field of poppis. While going through the field they find themselves becoming very sleepy. When you walk past the ornament or turn it from side to side, Dorothy and her friends seem to appear and disappear.

hallmark_2001_poppy_field.jpg

Off to See the Wizard….

“We’re off to see the Wizard – the wonderful Wizard of Oz!’ With the joyful song and a happy step, Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion follow the Yellow Brick Road toward Emerald City. Oz is so bright and beautiful, full of colors and sights that Dorothy never saw in Kansas. Still, she hopes the Wizard of Oz will be a wonderful wizard and grant her wish to go home, along with scarecrow’s yearning for a brain, Tim Man’s longing for a heart, and Cowardly Lion’s quest for courage.

hallmark_2005_offtoseewizard.jpg

I am hoping that we do not see any flying monkeys or Glinda the Good Witch around here anytime soon. If we do get swept away hopefully there will be some ruby slippers in it for us. The children around us are really happy because school got called off due to the high winds.

We have a busy week ahead of us! Never a dull moment here! Have a happy Monday everyone!
