Thanksgiving will be here soon…

Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!! All of the elves have been busy getting ready to celebrate the holiday. Do not worry, we are still very busy at The Ornament Factory shipping out all of the orders. Thankfully we have been able to get a few more elves to help us out. As we are working we keep talking about all of food we will be making for Thanksgiving. I do not know about you but I am looking forward to mashed potatoes! What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

Traditions….

Family traditions are always special around the holidays. We have a tradition of watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade every year. I always get excited at the end when Santa shows up. It is always nice to see the big guy. We also have the tradition of putting up more Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving. Hopefully it will not be too cold outside.

Peanuts Gang for the Holidays

As I have talked about in previous blogs about the Peanuts characters, they are a well liked series with Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments. many traditions have been made with these ornaments and movies. The holidays wouldn’t be the same without A Charlie Brown Christmas. Since its premiere Dec. 9, 1965, the Emmy-winning TV special has become a cherished tradition in millions of homes around the globe.

Classic Characters

Linus is one the Peanuts Gang that is well loved. He is known for carrying around his blanket everywhere he goes. A Comfy Christmas for Linus was released in 2017.

My personal favorite Peanuts Hallmark Ornament is the 2007 What Christmas is All About.  Year after year, viewers are drawn to the simple story of Charlie Brown and his search, amid the season’s hype and hoopla, for the meaning of Christmas. It is near the end of the special, when Linus recites the biblical account of the Baby’s birth, that we truly learn “what Christmas is all about.” This is a rare Hallmark Ornament.

Pigpen is having fun in this 2016 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament called Pigpen’s Snow Angel.

The Peanuts Gang Hallmark ornaments make a great addition to any tree or you can just have a tree dedicated to them. They will bring back many fond memories of watching the movies.

I appreciate you taking the time to catch up with us elves here at The Ornament factory. Be sure to check out the website and place your orders to make sure you get the ornaments you would like. That is all for now. Our work day is almost over and I’m excited to get some play time in with the other elves. Have a great day!

Peanuts Hallmark Ornaments

The Peanuts movies are classic holiday movies that are enjoyed every year by those young and old. The characters are recognized by many. Scenes from the Christmas movie are cherished and repeated often.

The Beginning of the Peanuts as Hallmark Ornaments…..

Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments started making ornaments of the Peanuts character back in 1977. The first ornament was a bulb showing a classic scene from the holiday classic where Lucy is listening to Schroeder play the piano and she is saying Merry Christmas.

The second Hallmark ornament that was released the same year is also a bulb. This one has the year, 1977, on it and Snoopy, Woodstock, and Linus admiring the beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

There are two other Peanuts Hallmark Ornaments that were released that year that are also bulbs. These also have classic scenes from the holiday movie classic.

As the Years Went On….

As the years went on the Hallmark ornaments showing the Peanuts characters continued to be bulbs with classic scenes from the movies. It was not until 1985 that the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament for the Peanuts characters was not a bulb. It was a Snoopy figurine. The Peanuts Hallmark Ornament bulbs continued for some years after but Hallmark also continued making the ornament figurines of the iconic characters. The 1989 Snoopy and Woodstock ornament shows Snoopy and Woodstock have fun stepping out, ‘Cause dancing for joy’s what the season’s about!

1989_snoopy_and_woodstock.jpg

There are several series within the Peanuts Hallmark Keepsake Series like The Peanuts Gang series. This series has all of the Peanuts Gang in individual Ornaments.

The series started off with dear sweet Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown, Peanuts Gang #1 has Charlie Brown with the snowman he built of himself.

1993_peanuts_gang.jpg

Here is Lucy, Peanuts Gang #2.

1994_peanuts_gang_2_lucy.jpgWill Lucy play a merry trick on good ole’ Charlie Brown?
Is Christmas in December? Will Santa come to town?

Classic Scenes from the Movies….

As the ornament continued to come from Hallmark they showed different iconic scenes from the holiday classic. One of my favorites is Lucy and her stand. The Holiday Advice Booth is a great addition to your Christmas tree and Peanuts Tree.

2003_holiday_advice_booth.jpgAre you suffering from Baking Burnout? Gift List Confusion? Mistletoe Phobia? Never fear. Lucy van Pelt is here. And she knows the answer to every questionâ??just ask her friends in the PEANUTS gang! Lucy loves giving advice almost as much as she loves hearing those “clinking nickels.” You’re in luck today, because “The Doctor is IN.”

Look for a continuation of this blog about the Hallmark Peanuts Characters later. For now, I’m off and back to work I go at The Ornament Factory!
