Some ornaments are bought for the character; others for the story they carry into the room. Hallmark’s two 2026 limited-edition science-fiction releases make that choice especially clear: a sound-equipped shuttle tied to a tense Star Trek episode, and Greedo rendered as a vintage-style Star Wars action figure.

Einstein: a little ship with a dramatic backstory

The Shuttlecraft Einstein NCC-1701/6 Ornament With Sound is listed by Hallmark as a 2026 Keepsake, limited to 5,000 pieces. It measures about 5 inches long, is made of plastic, and includes two LR44 batteries. Press the button and it plays dialogue and effects connected to the original-series episode “The Doomsday Machine.” The story detail is a fun one for longtime fans: Commander Matt Decker takes the shuttle after the USS Constellation is destroyed.

That sound feature makes this a natural choice for a display where family and friends can interact with it, but it also deserves a little planning. If your tree is crowded, the 5-inch length and the ornament’s button access may be easier to appreciate on a branch near the front, or on a small stand beside the tree. Keep the packaging and note the battery type so replacing the cells later is simple.

Greedo: a small-scale nod to the original Kenner era

The Star Wars Greedo Vintage Figure Ornament takes a different route. Hallmark describes it as a 2026 plastic ornament, about 4½ inches tall, limited to 5,000, and designed by artist Timothy Bishop. Its vintage action-figure treatment recalls the first twelve Star Wars figures released in 1978; Greedo was one of the cantina aliens among that early group. That makes it a nice bridge between holiday decorating and the toy shelves many collectors remember.

Because this one is a figure-style piece rather than a ship, it can sit comfortably among character ornaments or on a smaller tabletop tree. Hallmark’s listing currently shows it as unavailable online, while the Einstein listing showed availability when checked on October 20, 2026; stock can change, so check the official product pages before making a trip or placing an order.

Which one belongs in your collection?

• Choose Einstein if you enjoy interactive ornaments, original-series storytelling, or spacecraft as the center of a display.
• Choose Greedo if your favorite part of the holidays is revisiting the vintage toy look and building a character-focused Star Wars shelf or tree.
• Collect both if you like limited runs: Hallmark lists each at 5,000 pieces, but the subject, sound feature, scale, and display style are quite different.
