Peanuts Hallmark Ornaments

The Peanuts movies are classic holiday movies that are enjoyed every year by those young and old. The characters are recognized by many. Scenes from the Christmas movie are cherished and repeated often.

The Beginning of the Peanuts as Hallmark Ornaments…..

Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments started making ornaments of the Peanuts character back in 1977. The first ornament was a bulb showing a classic scene from the holiday classic where Lucy is listening to Schroeder play the piano and she is saying Merry Christmas.

The second Hallmark ornament that was released the same year is also a bulb. This one has the year, 1977, on it and Snoopy, Woodstock, and Linus admiring the beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

There are two other Peanuts Hallmark Ornaments that were released that year that are also bulbs. These also have classic scenes from the holiday movie classic.

As the Years Went On….

As the years went on the Hallmark ornaments showing the Peanuts characters continued to be bulbs with classic scenes from the movies. It was not until 1985 that the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament for the Peanuts characters was not a bulb. It was a Snoopy figurine. The Peanuts Hallmark Ornament bulbs continued for some years after but Hallmark also continued making the ornament figurines of the iconic characters. The 1989 Snoopy and Woodstock ornament shows Snoopy and Woodstock have fun stepping out, ‘Cause dancing for joy’s what the season’s about!

There are several series within the Peanuts Hallmark Keepsake Series like The Peanuts Gang series. This series has all of the Peanuts Gang in individual Ornaments.

The series started off with dear sweet Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown, Peanuts Gang #1 has Charlie Brown with the snowman he built of himself.

Here is Lucy, Peanuts Gang #2.

1994_peanuts_gang_2_lucy.jpgWill Lucy play a merry trick on good ole’ Charlie Brown?
Is Christmas in December? Will Santa come to town?

Classic Scenes from the Movies….

As the ornament continued to come from Hallmark they showed different iconic scenes from the holiday classic. One of my favorites is Lucy and her stand. The Holiday Advice Booth is a great addition to your Christmas tree and Peanuts Tree.

2003_holiday_advice_booth.jpgAre you suffering from Baking Burnout? Gift List Confusion? Mistletoe Phobia? Never fear. Lucy van Pelt is here. And she knows the answer to every questionâ??just ask her friends in the PEANUTS gang! Lucy loves giving advice almost as much as she loves hearing those “clinking nickels.” You’re in luck today, because “The Doctor is IN.”

Look for a continuation of this blog about the Hallmark Peanuts Characters later. For now, I’m off and back to work I go at The Ornament Factory!

A Special Frosty Fun Decade Ornament….

2016 had a special ornament to ass to the Frosty Fun Decade series. A Little Frosty Fun is a miniature ornament. If you have a collection for the miniature ornaments, this would be a great addition.

You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid!

While you probably didn’t find yourself sporting pink bunny pajamas on Christmas morning, we can still appreciate Aunt Clara’s effort to turn Ralphie into a Christmas morning Easter bunny in the 1983 American holiday classic, A Christmas Story.

Where else than from this legendary film could we have learned that one’s tongue can actually freeze to a flagpole? Or that it might be extremely offensive to substitute “l’s” with “r’s” when replicating an Asian accent? If anything, we know now that all it takes is the ultimate “triple dog dare” from a couple scheming friends and you might just shoot your eye out.

Only 40 minutes from our location (OK, 30 for those of us who are considered a “lead foot”) stands the legendary home where the Old Man’s awarded lamp, shaped like a woman’s leg wearing a fishnet stocking, shines in the front window for all its visitors. That’s why we here at The Ornament Factory think it would be swell to provide you with a little piece of the action for your very own home from our A Christmas Story Hallmark ornament collection.

Remember when we learned that saying, “ Oh…fudge” sometimes just doesn’t get the point across as … nicely as we’d like? Well, we captured Ralphie’s very own slip of the tongue, too. Since 2006, we’ve been selling these special Hallmark ornaments like the well known leg-shaped lamp you see to your right, and of course our ornament featuring Ralphie’s ridiculous pink bunny suit, seen below.

Hanging on your already beautifully decorated Christmas tree, these ornaments add just an extra pinch of life and daily chuckles as you share these scenes with generations after you and those still to come. The legendary leg lamp is “A Major Award” anyway, right? It just makes sense to have a little piece of the prize on your own tree.

As the 2011 holiday season comes to an end, remember that your tree could always use some new garnishing in years to come, so go ahead and treat yourself with a classic holiday Hallmark ornament that’s bound to get your family and friends talking, remembering and laughing … we triple dog dare ya!

Check out our Facebook and Twitter pages for new deals and promotions on all of our special Hallmark ornament collections. From our family to yours, have a happy and healthy new year!

Fleeing the Fiendfyre

Fleeing the Fiendfyre

“Fleeing the Fiendfyre” features the trio of best friends (Harry, Hermione and Ronald, of course!) in a scene in which they quickly fleeing on their brooms from a burst of fire. This ornament is sure to delight, as it will most definitely add some color to any tree!

This ornament will be available on opening day of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on July 15th!

Dobby the elf is featured in the 2010 edition of the series. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry tricks Lucius Malfoy into presenting his servant Dobby with a dirty sock.

With that simple act, Harry not only secures Dobby’s freedom but also the house-elf’s lifelong devotion.  Since that scene, Dobby has not only become quite popular with Harry Potter fans, but can now be added to your Hallmark Ornament collection as well.  Check out Dobby’s full wiki character profile here!

In the first Potions lesson, the dreaded Professor Snape orders Harry Potter to prepare a vile mixture said to cure boils. It includes dried nettles, crushed snake fangs, horned slugs, and porcupine quills. Snape watches Harry carefully, hoping in vain to catch him make a mistake. When another student forgets to add the quills after taking his potion off the fire, the cauldron melts into a twisted blob. Harry is blamed for the accident and wonders more than ever, “Why does Snape hate me so much?”

The Potions Master - 2001 Harry Potter Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

The Potions Master – 2001 Harry Potter Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

This 2001 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament titled “The Potions Master” includes Professor Snape looking on as Harry Potter creates his potion. Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger look on in the background.  This ornament also has a special lighting effect! Attach the clip, which is located inside the base of this ornament, directly to a lamp socket on a miniature light string. MAGIC!

Our favorite is the 2000 release of the pewter Harry Potter ornament.  It features Harry in a game of Quidditch leaning off his beloved Nimbus 2000 in an attempt to catch the Golden Snitch.  It captures the moment beautifully in pewter with a gold accent on the legendary Snitch.
